Great communities grow from great feedback โ€” and /suggest gives every member a structured, visible way to share their ideas. Each suggestion is posted as a numbered embed with live reaction voting, so the best ideas naturally rise to the top and nothing gets lost in chat.

Description

The /suggest command posts a community suggestion to the serverโ€™s configured suggestion channel. The suggestion is displayed as a rich embed with automatic upvote (๐Ÿ‘) and downvote (๐Ÿ‘Ž) reactions added by Burger Bot, allowing members to express their support or opposition. Every suggestion is assigned a unique numeric ID that staff can use to accept or deny it using /acceptsuggestion or /denysuggestion.

Usage

/suggest [suggestion]

Parameters

suggestion
string
required
The text of your suggestion. Be clear and specific โ€” a well-written suggestion is far more likely to get meaningful community engagement and a thoughtful response from staff.

Permissions Required

RoleAccess
All Membersโœ… Access by default
Restricted via Configโš™๏ธ Can be limited to specific roles
By default, any server member can submit a suggestion. If youโ€™d like to restrict submissions to certain roles (e.g., verified members only), this can be configured in /config suggestions. Check with your server administrator if youโ€™re unsure whether restrictions are in place.

What the Suggestion Embed Shows

Once submitted, the suggestion is posted to the suggestions channel as an embed containing:
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Suggestion โ€” The full text of the submitted idea
  • ๐Ÿ”ข ID โ€” A unique numeric identifier (e.g., #42)
  • ๐Ÿ‘ค Submitted By โ€” The member who submitted it
  • ๐Ÿ•’ Timestamp โ€” When it was submitted
  • ๐Ÿ‘ / ๐Ÿ‘Ž Reactions โ€” Added automatically by Burger Bot for community voting
  • ๐Ÿ”„ Status โ€” Pending until reviewed by staff

Example Usage

/suggest Add a dedicated off-topic channel for memes and casual chat.
This posts the suggestion to your suggestions channel with a Pending status, upvote/downvote reactions, and an assigned ID for staff to reference.
The more detail you include in your suggestion, the better. Instead of โ€œadd more channels,โ€ try something like โ€œAdd a dedicated off-topic channel so general chat stays focused on server topics.โ€ Specificity makes it easier for staff to evaluate and act on your idea.
Suggestions cannot be edited or deleted after submission. Think it through before hitting enter โ€” and make sure your suggestion text doesnโ€™t contain any content that violates your serverโ€™s rules.
