Sometimes a short conversation is all it takes. When a timed-out member acknowledges their behaviour and is ready to re-engage constructively, /untimeout lets you lift the restriction instantly — no need to wait for the clock to run out.

Description

The /untimeout command removes an active Discord timeout from a member, immediately restoring their full ability to send messages, react, and participate in voice channels. The action is logged in Burger Bot’s moderation records alongside your optional reason, so your team has a clear note explaining why the timeout was lifted early.

Usage

/untimeout @username Acknowledged behaviour and agreed to follow rules

Parameters

user
@mention
required
The member whose timeout you want to remove. Must be an @mention of a current member of your server.
reason
string
An explanation for why the timeout is being removed early. Saved to Burger Bot’s moderation log. Providing a reason keeps your team informed and maintains a consistent audit trail.

Permissions Required

RoleAccess
Moderator or higher✅ Can remove timeouts
Regular members❌ No access

Example Usage

Remove a timeout after a member reaches out:
/untimeout @ChaosGremlin Acknowledged behaviour and agreed to follow the rules
Remove a timeout without a reason:
/untimeout @ChaosGremlin
If you’re lifting a timeout early as a goodwill gesture, it’s a great opportunity to send the member a brief DM or follow-up message in a private channel outlining expectations going forward. Pairing a clean slate with clear communication goes a long way.
Running /untimeout on a member who does not currently have an active timeout will result in an error response from Burger Bot. Use /warnings to review the member’s full moderation history before taking action.
