# /snipe

> View the last deleted message in a channel.

Recover the last deleted message in a channel.

## Description

Shows the most recently deleted message in the current channel, along with the author and when it was deleted.

## Required permissions

* **User:** `Manage Messages`
* **Bot:** `Embed Links`

## Syntax

```text theme={null}
/snipe [channel:<channel>]
```

## Example

```text theme={null}
/snipe
/snipe channel:#general
```

## Notes

Snipe data is short-lived and may not be available if the bot recently restarted.
