# /music search

> Search YouTube and pick the result you want to play.

Search YouTube and choose from the top results with a select menu.

## Description

Returns the top YouTube results matching your query. Pick one and Burger Bot will queue or play it depending on whether anything is already playing.

## Required permissions

* **User:** must be in a voice channel
* **Bot:** `Connect`, `Speak`

## Syntax

```text theme={null}
/music search query:<search term>
```

## Example

```text theme={null}
/music search query: the weeknd blinding lights
```

## Notes

<Tip>
  Use `/music search` when you're not sure which video you want — it's faster than copy-pasting a URL.
